How we compare.
InvestSherpa helps US readers understand investing accounts, funds and costs. We provide information, not financial advice or a recommendation tailored to you.
Who appears in the comparisons
We start with a supplied investing-platform catalogue. A platform must have an exact USD currency record, pass US country restrictions and have a plausible US retail service supported by a public source. We exclude offshore CFD services, unclear entity matches and products outside the account types we compare.
Our initial screen on October 7, 2026 retains 23 brands. 19 appear in brokerage accounts and 4 in managed investing. This is a brief availability screen, not a full regulatory investigation or a test of the service. A comparison appears only when at least three eligible platforms support it.
What the figures mean
Opening minimums come from the catalogue and are labelled as such. They are not a current price promise. When information is missing or cannot be confidently attributed to the US service, we show “Not stated”. Costs, features and permissions can differ by account, location and customer.
We do not display the catalogue's ratings as a Sherpa score. The feed does not provide a reliable, complete basis for a numerical ranking or a “best” award.
How lists are ordered
Records with an existing tracked destination appear before catalogue-only records. Within each group, names are alphabetical. There are no booked placements in this snapshot. Position is not a judgment of suitability or a claim about investment performance.
How articles are written
Sherpa Desk is the editorial byline, not a fictitious adviser. Each article starts with an answer, links its primary sources and carries its publication date. We use the SEC's Investor.gov, FINRA, IRS, SIPC and the US Department of Labor for the topics they cover.
Financial, tax and legal circumstances differ. These articles have not received individual specialist sign-off. Read the source rules for the relevant year and consult a qualified professional when you need personal advice.
Check before you act
Read the provider's current US agreement and fee schedule, confirm the entity in an independent register, and consider your own goal and ability to absorb loss. Registration does not imply endorsement or guaranteed returns.
